Fiona, What a beautiful workbook! I still use handwriting in my working journal, to make lists and take notes at work. I will admit for repetitive activities such as grocery shopping and travel lists the apps are useful and save time, but I love a good handwritten list on scrap paper. I think it is time to pull out my stationary and send some friends snail mail instead of text messages to brighten their day.
This is so beautiful and the workbook is gorgeous 🥰 I love to write by hand ... (Though I've always wished for nicer handwriting!). There's always something special about writing letters, cards or journaling by hand. A deeper connection. Thank you Fiona 🙏
So with you on this. I vehemently hold on to writing cards and letters, even though we get few in return these days. Sadly, a lot of people whom I communicated with by letter have now stopped replying, or I get a badly-worded email in return. I shouldn’t be ungrateful for gifts which arrive from ******, but it feels so lazy - no effort, not much thought, and no personal touch. I’m getting to be a grumpy old thing 🙈😂
How lovely thank you for the pdf, I always wondered how to create scented paper for letter writing! I still write letters to my friends and send cards on a regular basis. I also hand write daily in my nature journal that is expanding into a book review journal too!
Thank you so much for the lovely gift. So timely as I have just dusted off my calligraphy pen and found some ink! All this means I really should get on and write something 🙂
Thank you for the pdf. I still write out notes, to dos and shopping lists - find I remember things better as part of the process and a journal is good to just download to.
I use handwritten lists (grocery, To Do, Have Done ...) as well as an analog calendar. People sometimes feel put out when they ask if I can do something on a certain future date and time and I say, "I'll check my calendar when I get home" ... the digital version just doesn't work for me. But I'm kind of glad for that. I don't want to have to make decisions about my future plans right in the moment of the request.
That said, despite writing by hand every day in some form or another, my handwriting is atrocious and has definitely gotten worse the more years I've relied on computers.
Oh, how lovely, thank you! I made paper a couple of summers ago, but it was SO messy I had to do it outdoors. Then last summer was either wet or windy, or both, so nothing got made. But I kept some of the best sheets, and had inked and torn up some of the less good - so have some pieces for the seasonal collage at any rate!
My Dad, a lifelong journalist, was a great letter-writer. I miss him, and find his letters about, tucked into books 🙄
Dad was a small-town journalist...started at 19, as junior reporter, on his bike. Retired from the same paper at 65, sub-editor and features page writer. I have ink in my veins I think 🤔.
I hear him behind me...'never use ten words when one will do'
Thank you so much for the gift. I love writing and have decided to revisit cursive handwriting. I seem to of gotten lazy with my writing skills. So perfect timing thank you
I journal by hand every morning. 10 minutes of writing (usually with a prompt but sometimes just whatever is in my head). Always by hand though. I know many people journal on their laptop/table using a keyboard but it just doesn't work for me, not for journaling. I used to do first drafts of stories, and blog posts by hand too.
I would love to write more letters but I am never sure what to write about. It is a strange thing to describe your day in the sort of details needed to fill a sheet of paper. So I don't write/send any letters, it's a vicious circle.
Thank you for sharing your slow letters document. 🙂
I loved this Fiona, and the work book is gorgeous.
I've just started doing a nature journal, a mix of handwriting and photos taken from my phone. I treated myself to a fountain pen at Christmas and I haven't used another pen since. I love it!
This is gorgeous. I write by hand every day.
Yes I think it is important to do that. X

I need to practice mine too.

Love that you find his letters. My dad was a writer and I have a half finished manuscript of his. One day …

Probably why I love haiku 😊
Bless him he was so right x
Oh, absolutely... a few very well-known and loved books could do with a severe pruning imho 😊
