Beautiful paintings. I made a quill with a buzzard feather and like to use that to draw with sometimes. But I’ll be looking for iris’s this year! Thank you for your inspiring art .

One of my favourite flowers. I am hoping that they will grow in our new garden as they didn't at our previous home. Thanks for the reminder about dying & inks too.

The Iris is a stunning flower isn't it. My next door neighbours have yellow irises in their pond, they are looking fantastic.

Yes I think it is a good year for the iris. We have yellow dotted all over the island x

Oh how lovely, I can imagine how beautiful they look. We are visiting Arran the last two weeks of July. I hope they are still in flower but I fear we may miss them by then🤞.

Your photograph of the irises is just stunning. There are some beautiful yellow irises down by the pond at Brodie Castle they were there over a week ago. Very early this year, we have had a very dry May this part of the highlands. Thank you for your inspiring post Fiona.

Yes mine are early as well but now finished off early because of the heavy rains. Reminds us to enjoy them when they arrive xx

Thank you for the information about using the stem for a quill. I'm going to try that. Just leave them on the plant until they turn brown? Will do. I'm getting an itch to pull out my watercolors. Perhaps I'll try ink too.

Yes I harvest when they are about half brown half green and dry them in the house so they go all brown. Inks will be fabulous x
