Hello people, how are we all doing? As promised I thought I would share how I have moved my wee summer scroll book onto its next chapter. When I began this book I had absolutely no idea how it would unfold, or in this case, unroll….
My only guiding light was the rambling rose in my garden that continues to flower giving off the most glorious fragrance. Mostly, with my book arts project I like them to develop over time because this is the creative space that is just for me. With only one or two exceptions I do not exhibit or sell my books. Last year in my Patreon community we took the theme of wild places and created a book as a homage to a special place. I took Kintyre as it is my go to place to unwind.
I will be talking about that book and the sequel to it as this project unfolds. It was, however, in the creation of this book that I had the idea for this book arts project and I just let the idea develop in my creative mind until I found the right opportunity. In making book art I truly understand the important role it has played in the development on my artistic voice. It is a place with no boundaries or limitations. It is a place to experiment and seek creative freedom. At times, my book arts project has saved me from falling down a doubting rabbit hole. I don’t doubt my artistic voice and I never have artistic blocks and that is all because of my book art work.
